The more the merrier =) Maybe I should bring my sister too, who has just joined the forum... ... ... or maybe not...

There's still the small matter of somebody being able to bring a grill or some sort, even a small one if possible. I don't know if there are BBQs available at the park, but it'd probably be best to be prepared for that. Anybody have a portable grill?

I don't have a portable BBQ, and no there are no BBQs at the park.

btw who's going to be in charge of buying the food?
  • edited August 2008

Apparently me, Jun and Fiona are in charge of buying and preparing the food on Saturday. Anybody else can come along if they want to help out. We'll just average out how much it'll cost everybody. We'll keep it below $10-$15 per person.

If worse comes to worse, I might just buy a grill for myself anyway, but yeah, it'd help out to have more than one.

I think we have enough great minds coming along to the meet-up to figure out how to operate a portable BBQ. That is, if you exclude me.

Sooo... according to Weather Network, there will be 90% chance of rain on Sunday =\
  • edited August 2008
Well shit.....shall we make alternative plans then?
  • edited August 2008
rain is romantic. Stick it to the plan =]
  • edited August 2008
Hahaa... romantic is not really what we're going for here =P

Hmmm well I'm not sure when you guys planned to buy the food, but if it was the day of, we could just call the BBQ off in the morning if it's rainy and have dinner again at a restaurant.

latee dinner ... so I can join :(

buntzen lake has a huge sheltered place to hang out with picnic tables and an area to bbq
  • edited August 2008
Darn. Confederation Park? Can't make it. It'd be easier at Mountain since I'll be up there anyways studying... but I'm down for dinner!
  • edited August 2008
i'm cool with dinner too.. i will forego the bbq if it turns out to be a rainy.. i hate bbqing on a wet and gloomy day...

Oh yeah, come to think of it, Confed has a sheltered area as well... dunno if we could secure it though since most people would prefer the shade.

Sorry, Buntzen Lake is just too far for me and I still have finals to study for =P

Just to be on the safe side, maybe we'll postpone the BBQ for another time. Any suggestions on where we could eat? Let's get some suggestions, and I'll call to make a reservation.

They have a new Gazebo sort of thing, and if it's at Confed I can drop by on Sunday after my family dinner.

Joey's? Xept they don't do reservations.
    Capstone for fonduuuue!
    Fish on Rice for sushi!

    ...yes.
  • edited August 2008
    I'm sure if it's only for 10-12 people, we won't really need a reservation. Where's Joey's?

I was thinking The Keg on Willingdon, right by the highway. Pretty accessible by transit.

Joey's is on Lougheed Hwy. Kinda close to Lougheed Stn but no one wants to walk on the highway. Atleast I don't.

    Anyone wanna offer rides?! Ha.
