Summer SFU Meetup?

edited August 2008 in General
EDIT by illicit:The thread has been successfully Stuck. You are now being taken to the thread.

I think it's about time for another, since Jun is back by the end of this week anyway. Plus I am going to China in September, bitches.

GODDAM MONGORRIANZ, TEER DOWN MY SHITTY WALL!!

Peter is also in accordance with this already, all it took was some ball-twisting (except he has ovaries, so I'm not sure how this worked).

All we need really is just a time, a place, and people willing to look each other in the eye after admitting to such things like being a virgin, loving the buttsex, and giving lots of head.

Peter seems to think an outdoor BBQ would be super cool. Martha Stewart gives two thumbs up. Locations have been pegged as either Burnaby mountain, or Stanley Park.

ANYWAY, decide away!

UPDATES

Magnificent Bastard - Chicken and TOSSED POTATO SALAAAD....
Lixie - CAKE!
Ether - WHAT JOO BRING?!
LazyGUY - (Beer?) MAYBE ON WEEKEND YOU BRING POT LUCKY?!
SiuYing - Yes, please bring name tags for eatings.
Triple - Saltiness (would you please actually confirm whether you're coming or not? I never know if you're serious), and blow jobs for all.
Nicole - MOAR STORIES ABOUT VIRGINS YOU BRING.
Shi2 - NO PLAY.
I_like_hiking - HISSELF HE BRING.
Flora - Hopefully she will be bringing all her wisdom teeth still...
Morro - BBQ IS COOL.

MOAR UPDATES

Apparently potlucks aren't cool anymore (I thought it was... bring back the potlucky). But whatever, a previously decided shopping list is cool, too, that way most of us won't have to be lugging food to the beach. I CALL NOT FOOD SHOPPING BITCH.

LIST FOR FOOD

- Chicken wings
- A couple of steaks (we could cut them up or we could just buy steak pieces)
- Dogs (like hot dogs, okay...) of any kind
- Burger patties
- Drinks (some alcohol would be great)
- Pork chops
- Lamb chops
- SAAAALAAAAD
- CAKE! THERE MUST BE CAKE!
- Pies too... if there must be... (or other such desserts)

That's the most I can think of, so if anyone wants to add to the list, PLS POAST MOAR.

Also, things like drinks, salads, and dessert can be brought by individual people. I VOLUNTEER FOR CAKE!

I don't know what's so embarrassing! Fact of life, my friends.

I'm down with an outdoor BBQ!
  • edited July 2008
BBQ sounds good =) It'd be good to have this before finals (next week or the week after?) because after finals I'm getting all four of my wisdom teeth taken out, so I won't be able to eat anything XD

Also, is this going to be a potluck, or is someone going to buy all the food and get everyone to pay them back?
  • edited July 2008
I will go if it's in Stanley Park. I don't want everyone to play me, so maybe a potluck is better.

    BBQ is cool.

How would we "play" you, exactly?

Why did you only list things I've admitted to!!!

Hahaha... sorry I meant "pay" not "play".

this sounds awesome. is it going to be everyone chips in 5 or 10 bux and do a big communal bbq or bring your own stuff kinda thing.

wouldnt mind stanley park or burnaby mountain.

although buntzen lake is an awesome place to bbq as well, only thing is it gets packed quite early there so you'd need to get there early if you wanted to have a bbq there.

anytime after the 19th is cool with me cause thats the day i fly back :D

    looking forward to this

I was thinking about something else. Didn't mean "play."

I meant it is best for each person to bring something rather than one person buying and bringing everything and having others pay him/her back.

lol i have a limited availability, im at work 11 hours a day (mon-fri) and i have some weekends booked up, so if a date is settled ill tell u if i can come
  • edited July 2008
    I'm in!

As long as it's on a weekend, I can probably be there.
  • edited July 2008
Well, I think a potluck would work out too, BUT, people need to bring real food. I don't wanna wind up getting there and finding that everybody brought bags of chips and package of hotdogs. So please people, real food! And as an early precaution, I'll warn everybody of my allergies: peanuts (any nuts, really), beans, peas, tree fruits. If anybody else has any food allergies, please add to the list.

It's alright if there's a few items with it, but I just hope that not everything contains something I can't eat, cause then it'll suck.

I call chicken wings and potato salad.
  • edited July 2008
Please, would someone bring something with peanuts. PLEASE.

And it'll definitely be on a weekend--and I'll compile the list of people coming now and the potluck list in the first post.

    I am bringing peanuts.

Hahah, these potluck things always result in one person skimping out and being hated by the whole group. Awesome.

Anyway, I'll bring coleslaw and drinks, I guess. Anyone like wine? I can bring a few bottles at pretty much no cost to me.

Also, how does Saturday, July 26 sound for everybody?
  • edited July 2008
need to have a general idea of how many people are coming so that we can prepare enuf food for everyone.
  • edited July 2008
Okay, many issues have been brought to my attention, and I guess I'll try to address them one at a time.

First, we need to decide on a time. For now, the tentative date is Saturday, July 26. If anybody has any strong objections to this date, please let us know.

Secondly, we need to decide on a location. Stanley Park and Burnaby Mountain have been suggested. Both are pretty accessible, even on weekends.

Third, apparently potlucks suck. So, one suggestion would be to have everybody agree on a BBQ shopping list, and a few volunteers will go out and buy everything and prepare it the night before. The rest of the gang will reimburse them at the BBQ. $10 per person should cover it, depending on how many people come.

Which brings me to the fourth point, who's in and who's not? Let's try to decide by the end of the week so preparations can begin.

    That is all, for now.

I probably can't make it if it's on the 26th 'cause I have to go to a cousin's wedding.
  • edited July 2008
I'll love a Barbarque. Too bad I am in Hong Kong right now and wouldn't be back until early August. Sorry that I couldn't attend. Hope you guys will have fun.
  • edited July 2008
... 26th is one of the fireworks, isn't it? Yess... it is.

Why are we doing it on 26th??! !

What about the Sunday that weekend? 28th? More maybe the 3rd of August? Or if it needs to be a Saturday, how about 9th of August?

Also, I put the general list of food in the first post. I didn't update with a decided date yet because July 26th doesn't work for everyone. Student can't be there and neither can Ether... and I, for one, am going to see fireworks instead... I thought most people would be... OBVIOUSLY July 26th was generated by some people who did not care to ask everyone!
  • edited July 2008
August 9 sounds good for me... I'll come after my final =)
I'll figure out what to bring once we know how many people are going... I'll probably bring a watermelon or something...
  • edited July 2008
I'm committed to friends and fireworks on the 26th. Sunday would work!
  • edited July 2008
    FIIIIINE

August 9th works for me too. All the other stuff still stands.

Sunday the 27th isn't good for me, but if it works for everybody else, that's cool.
  • edited July 2008
It's starting to sound like August 9th then?
  • edited July 2008
Annnd August 9th won't work either, haha.
    Oh well.
