365 admittedly wasn't the greatest course in the world (nor Mark, the greatest prof). but at least it was relatively easy marks. average performance throughout the course and a few days of solid studying before the final was good enough for an A.
My most regretted course decision was hands down 379 (compilers) with shermer. maybe if not for commuting, jobs, and macm 316 that could've been an ok course. but nope, wayy too hard
I took 365 wit Ze-Nian Li. Assignments were stupid easy, but then the tests seemed really hard. Even with a bunch of cheat sheets the averages were quite low. The assignments made it an easy path though.
I liked Shermer's 379. It was definitely a lot of hard work, but I found it rewarding. That said I would not have wanted to take it while working. That would have been hell.
I took 361 in 2011. I had a shitty semester that semester (but i did that a lot) but it was a decent course. Helps to know your math well, particularly linear algebra.
Raytracer project was really hard, not a lot of people did well. that includes me. it probably would've been pretty rewarding thing to get working.
