Most Romantic Thing You've Done for Anyone

edited February 2009 in General
Hey everyone:

So this forum has a lot of wide topics on love and stuff and i was just wondering. If you are dating and have a girlfriend or boyfriend what is the most romantic thing you've done for them? If you're single what is the most romantic thing you've done for someone you liked?

I'll post my response as soon as i decide what the most romantic thing i did was. Hope to read your responses :)

I'm pretty romantic when it comes to Valentine's Day and little things. I really spoil my boyfriend. But unfortunately, I've chosen to block out all those memories from my previous relationship. Eh, if anything comes up I'll post.

Well after much thought i would have to say the most romantic thing i did was when i was with my current girlfriend. Personally i think it wasn't that romantic but she thought it was.

I met her at a wedding ceremony on August 16th. I was a guest of honour and she was the bridesmaid. The wedding was held at Canda Place by the Cruise Ships. We had a great time and we talked and danced and had a great time. I actually got enough nerve to ask her to dance and after she gave me a sweet kiss. We started going out a few days later as i asked her out.

On New Year's Eve I took her out to celebrate. I had a big surprise for her and she had no idea. I blindfolded her as we approached the destination. I took her to the same place where we first met ( Canada Place By The Cruise Ships ) and i gave her a bouquet of 16 roses for the date that we met. As we walked we enjoyed each other's company and when it approached midnight i set my " romantic plan into action . " As we counted down the seconds till 2009 i took her by the hand and took off her blindfold. The second midnight struck, i gave her a long sweet kiss. She asked me after what that was for and as she looked around she started to realize where we were. We were standing on a patio that overlooked the water and it was where we first met a couple of months before at the wedding. I told her the kiss was that i wanted to ensure i had the first kiss of 2009 with her as we shared our first kiss at the wedding a couple of months ago at the same place. I thought everything worked out. The roses, the locations, the kiss and as we finished kissing she thought it was it but i surprised her with one final surprise. I took her hand and went to the car to play some music. I pressed play and the song that cam on was " Beautiful" by Jim Brickman and we started dancing. She hugged me and started crying as we danced as she realized that was the very song we first danced to at the wedding. Everything was perfect except the cold weather and snow so i took off my jacket gave it to her and as we started to head home i carried her on my back all the way back to the car where she fell asleep during the ride home.

When we got home i dropped her off at her place and walked her inside. We exchanged goodbyes and i went home and smiled. When i got home it was around 2 in the morning and i had received a text message from her thanking me for the night and that she had a good time with me.

That was probably the most romantic thing i ever did as i went all out to try to prove how much she means to me. Hope you guys can expand your responses a bit as i like to know that there is still love in today's troubling world. :)

I'm pretty sure some girls would agree that there is such a thing as too much, and that there's a point wherein your man-sensitivity becomes much like that of a girl. At that point you need to spend an afternoon watching ufc instead of... i dunno, twilight i guess.

But then again this thread is about the most romantic thing you've done...

hey i know it might be a lot but she means a lot to me and i do enjoy watching UFC as well. GSP is awesome. It's ok though since it is about romantic things that we've done.

I'm sure all of us were like that at some point when we fell in love for the first time :P

I hope my boyfriend never tries to be that romantic. I don't think I could handle that much cheese in one night, but maybe that's just me.

I have to agree with anonymous1. I think we each have our own tolerances for how much is too much. When I was in highschool, I probably would have eaten up Justin's romaticism, but now as an adult (and I am nearly 27), my idea of romantic is my boyfriend offering to use his tax return to pay for my tuition.

That being said, he makes me coffee in the morning and cooks my supper and sometimes makes me cupcakes. His devotion to taking care of me is inspiring to me and I find it oh so romantic to find supper with desert laid out so nice on the table after a day of school and studying.

hey that's cool i respect your opinions. I'm only 21 now so i guess i still have time to learn.
  • edited February 2009
For sure Justin, do it now, while you can. Getting older and jaded really takes the fun out of life.
  • edited February 2009
That's pretty cool Justin. Some girls I know love those symbolism things you got going on.
  • edited February 2009
yeah she is one of them. She knows it only means a lot to us two so that's what makes it special and sweet.
  • edited February 2009
Wow Justin, total props to you!

my fellow men, we've been going around this subject wrong the whole time. the key to a woman's heart is through her stomach

hand made cheese cake from true confections on alma's, an artsy latte from caffe artigiano, dimsum thats not premade and pushed around on carts but made immediately when you order, kobayaki cooked japanese food, authentic italian pasta, greek food with fresh cut veggies, steak and lobster dinner, etc...

boy, and here i thought all i had to be was a nice guy to get a gf
