I took HIST 225 in Spring 2012 with MacDougall. I didn't find it to difficult. The mid-term and final were take home but if you have never taken a history course before make sure you talk to your TA a lot. Each TA is different and expects different ideas to be incorporated in papers. Also, my friend took this course with Garfinkel and he said it was harder. I took HIST 106 with Garfinkel. It wasn't a difficult course per say but he does expect more from you. P.S. The material of this course is similar to History 12 in high school.
How much reading was required for HIST 225 tho? It it took a significant time to study? Is reading the textbook mandatory for a decent grade (B and higher)?
