Transfer gpa to arts

edited June 2012 in General
Hey all, wondering if someone could help me

I saw that the transfer gpa average for arts was a 2.7 (I'm planning to transfer into third year) however my first semester of college really set me back, and SFU has calculated my GPA to be a 2.59 on 54 credits.

Does anyone think I still have a chance to get in, or is there anything at all that I can do to increase my chances?

Thanks!

  • Just apply!
  • Arts is a joke. That's for people who can't get into anything else and if you can't get the minimum gpa for arts, why are you even in school? Have fun flipping burgers or serving lattes with your BA lol
  • Wow really? So basically your going to criticize people for having maybe one or two bad classes or semesters and dropping their gpas? maybe some people struggled out of high school, or had family issues, or had sports or work commitments and couldnt focus 100 percent in school? How do you know that the the original poster hasn't improved drastically. Have you thought that maybe they might be trying to get into law school or some other specialty before you criticized their BA?

I feel bad for you because with that arrogant and judgmental attitude your not amounting to anything yourself.

To answer the original poster's question, the GPA requirements do drop throughout the admission process so you should contact the faculty, you do still have a chance of getting in.
