Chances of registering from waitlist? :O

edited September 2009 in General
Just a random question relayed from a friend, for those of you who are 2nd or 3rd years-what are the chances of having a course registered when you are on the waitlist? Let's say you're 4th for lecture and 2nd for a tutorial class?

My friend's been dreading about how she only has 1 class registered so far. :embarassed:

Thanks ^^

If it is a seminar course with only 20-25 spaces, then it'll be pretty hard to get in. If it's a 100 or 200 level course, it should be pretty easy. There should be enough people who drop courses in the first week or 2 of the big lecture classes that anyone within 5 of the waiting list should easily get in.

Some professors will even write-in everyone on the waiting list. It all depends.
