Asian parents are just hard to deal with. I'm going out with an Asian guy and he already gets hell from my parents.

What I am trying to get at is that inter-racial relationship is very common now, but the problem is that there are VERY LITTLE Asian guy/ White girl couple. Anyone interested in figuring out why?

Ok, quick question do Asian guys go for non-Asian girls? I don't see Asian guys with girls of other ethnicity as often as Asian girls with white guys.
Some do. For example, both Bruce and Brandon Lee have a White wife. (Well, Brandon Lee died a few days before he was supposed to get married...)

Totally True. If Triple were still around, he will say that, "Asians have small penis."

    I miss him...

you seem to have some lofty ideas of what relationships are about. either directly or indirectly asian parents give their kids bf/gf hell. i'm sure that this is also the case with all the other races out there too (man, indian parents are probably more tougher than asian parents). guess it boils down to the notion of wanting whats best for their kids. i still think some of the stuff you say is a crock of shit, maybe you should go get a gf before making such assumptions.

i hate to say it but asians are the most racist people on earth (seriously). if you have really traditional asian parents they'll demand that you marry someone who is not only the same race but also from the same country (i.e. if your chinese than they expect you to marry someone whose chinese not japanese; therefore not just any asian person).

i dont deny the fact that interracial relationships exist, heck a lot of the people i meet who are interracial couples are great. however, from my understanding, there is always a culture shock though. inevitably one culture will end up surrendering along with the loss of traditions.

student, you seem to love eating some crazy ass stuff like raw nakji and insect satay. how often do you meet people of other races wanting to eat that stuff besides us crazy asians?

in no way am i stating that interracial relationships are bad, i am merely trying to argue against some of students claims.

not all asian girls will automatically choose the white guy over the asian guy (although some do, not stating that there is never this situation)

you state that the only problem they'll have is a language barrier between them and the grandparents. this is not true because alot of asian parents who live here dont speak english. so what then? you gonna try using sign language? its always a shitty feeling not understanding what your gf and her family are talking about around the dinner table and than all of a sudden being given a bit of translation just to feel welcome. so fuck your assumptions about language barriers.

daughters dont always become the crown jewel of their families just because they marry a white guy. i dont know where the hell you got this from. in a semi-perfect world, parents would always be happy with whoever you dated but thats a different thread all together.

your assumption that interracial relationships are "very common" is also shit.

your assumption that most white girls dont like asian guys over a small dick is the biggest crock of shit ever. i believe there is a lack of asian guy white girl relationship because white girls dont find the characteristics which they find attractive in asian guys.

and wtf are you apologizing the ether about? and why do you have to cough shit out?

lastly, just because your fourth year engineering and asian doesnt exclude you from the daily grind of your gf's/bf's asian parents. infact they'll probably shit on you more.

if u admit ur inexperienced, then u have no business stating your opinion so strongly on subjects of relationships [which u should realize has a > 50% chance of being wrong due to ur inexperience]

opinions are great and all but u sometimes take it too far... when it just isnt the case

honestly the only thing i can compare what u said to is all this shit advice about men by some woman in magazines like cosmo lol

Bring home IVT. And your parents will be so shocked and disappointed in your choice, that your current boyfriend will seem so much better by comparison.

this is in regards to a caucasian and asian relationship.

it's evident that the cultures are very different, one values enjoyment and just going out to have a good time where the latter appears to have a heavier bias on material goods.

I can admit, myself, along with many asian males, spend a good portion of our budget on clothing and our cars. many asian females douse themselves in expensive clothing, bags, shoes, make up, food.

Caucasians, appear to enjoy spending a couple thousand dollars on a trip, out to see the world, meet new people while not really being very keen on expensive material goods like clothing and cars. eg. white guys that love to go camping and just get hammered at parties, picking up their girlfriends in a beat up civic that i would be more than embarrassed to be next to.

this is just a simple example, this doesn't take into consideration values, qualities, ambitions, parental "consent" and acceptance etc.

Now combine a " white washed " asian male with regular gym routine, the usual asian material goods of a nice car and clothing with a caucasian girl thats used to caucasian males that rather get tanked at a party and getting there in a putt-putt car with an outfit worth less than my shoes.

this is my theory why i've seen more caucasian girls going out with " honger " / asian guys, let it be different cultural background or they're more appreciative of monetary aspect (i know i know, you'll argue that they're gold diggers, but is it wrong to want to have a better standard of living?)

Lol I get where Student's coming from, it's that stereotype about Asian parents and how they only care about face/reputation. Heck Student, you should have mentioned UBC in that list, the stereotypical Asian parent goes crazy over that :P

Dang, it really depends on what kind of Asian you are. There are vast differences between HK parents and mainland parents and taiwan parents, etc. etc. you know. Like personally, my parents went through a goddamn communist revolution. So for them their values are slightly more different than say an HK parent. Even like a Cambodian (we don't have 'em here, but there are alot in US) or a Flip parent (they're Asian too) the cultural differences and parent's expectations are VAST. I think your definitions of ASIAN parents are mainly HK parents. But with that said, I grew up with HK and Taiwan people, so it's all good!

off topic: Damn, it's hard to be CBC these days as well. I hate it when white guys take me for a honger or something. lolz.
