Healthy eating at uni
My diet has gotten quite poor since being at uni. I survive on a $30 a week (if that) budget. Always got to get the value stuff. I get by on cereal, toast with margarine, oven baked chicken fillets and chips, and random snacks like chocolate, fruit (only since last week), breakfast bars, crisps etc everyday. And I usually drink quite a bit of alcohol once or twice a week. I have a gym membership but I am yet to go. I'm skinny but I'm starting to get a little chub.
So. On a budget, and for someone who has few pots and pans and can't even make the simplest of meals (pasta even), how do I start eating better? Any meal tips or good foods to get? I need your helps!!

Honestly, fruits are high in fibre (most) and will satiate you better than something like a bag of chips, or a piece of white bread. You'll notice you'll get healthier and feel less hungry in the day (although you still need stuff high in protein like meat etc) If you load up on fruits (which are generally cheap), and with vegetables c'mon you only need to steam or boil them...hell even microwave them if you have those microwave bags. Your health will increase a lot, stay away from those simple carbohydrates like white bread etc.

what's left for food then?
One week worth of bananas $2.
10 lbs of potato, $4-5.
Day old bakeries, $1-$2, freeze it.
One week worth of greens, $2-3.
24 Eggs. $6.
5lb bag of rice is $5. 5lb pasta is $8.
If you really need food, there's always the food bank.
