Hold on... why is the Alicia Keys concert $130 per ticket?

I paid just $75 for Radiohead... the world doesn't make sense anymore.
    Sure it does

    Radiohead fucking blows.

I wouldn't go if the ticket was free.

Listening to a guy who sounds like his nuts are clasped by some vice isn't my idea of music.

    Sorry.

Listening to guys talk about how much money they have, how hard it is in the ghetto they dont live in, how hard their lives are now that they have money, and bitches and hoes isn't great music either (if you like that, in which case i reiterate what SpectreFire said).

I dont love radiohead, but they're okay.

Haters and Fags, how great it is to have so much money and bling, complaining about having too much money and bling, living in the ghetto (although the person doesnt anymore), Pimps and Hoes and having their dick sucked, Going to the Club

i don't particularly pay attn to the lyrics of rap music.. i just like the beat of it.. then again.. i got into that stuff cause i used to frequent clubs a lot..

but to beg the question.. how about any slow/soft rock songs that aren't singing about the joy and woes of relationships?
  • edited September 2008
Damn, these are the crap people listen to these days. Do you not appreciate silence?

Turn off the bloody radio and TV. Fools dress like a rapster and listens to popular music.

I forgot about kanye west, and yes he is quite a whiney bitch, but i like a few of his songs.

I dont know if id consider black eyed peas rap as more as pop slightly leaning towards r&b.

I wouldnt call puff daddys cover of ill be missing you rap necessarily, as pop sung by a rap arist with an r&b twist.

Common isnt bad either, he has a positive message from songs ive heard

Siuying that is true theyre all about love etc...but i think its a bit more philosophically deep or meaningful than a lot of rap music, its a lot more relatable as well

I guess it depends on your scene, I'm more thinking about listening to on my iPod, I think if i was at a club id rather prefer beats than listening to lyrics as well

Yes, it is you little weasel, it's just that you've been listening to so much of it that you're practically desensitized to its damaging effects :omg: :teeth:

Let me tell you something: all rap music creates a degree of strain in those who take the shit seriously or in those who listen to it almost exclusively(e.g. you being a prime example of each category :teeth: ). The problem arises because the music appeals especially to those who usually don't have the means to obtain the material objects that are depicted so glamorously in the lyrics and videos (e.g. carz, rimz, hoez, drugz, ice, expensive champagne etc.). What the fuck do you think is going to happen when you don't have much wealth and when you're continually exposed to imagery of objects that to you are unobtainable? Fucking criminality, that's what! Banks will be robbed, drugs will be sold, and violent muggings will take place. Sure, some artists have had meaningful songs, but even those artists have succumbed to the image of the gangsta rapper (take 2Pac and Notorious B.I.G. for example).

So don't be telling me that rap isn't detrimental. The music corrupts those who exclusively listen to it, and it especially corrupts the already corruptible (i.e. you).

And another thing: have you been to a fucking rap show/concert? The artist you pay to see is like up there with at least 10 other unheard of niggas rappin' hopelessly about God knows what (since it's so indistinguishable). That shit doesn't require talent, those boys are all about fuckin' manpower :teeth:

If you want to listen to some real music, listen to some Guns N' Roses :shade: :

Insatiable, I completely agree with you and actually hold the same regard for violent video games. I swear, people that play them are becoming desensitized to blood and gore. Maybe in real life, they don't have access to guns but you can use knives and blunt objects in the games and those are available to anybody! These games are training the next generation of blood thirsty criminals! They are detrimental to the minds of all who play them exclusively (which is basically a majority!)

This is why I'm going to stick to Super Mario Brothers on N64. Now that is a real game. It may have been made before I was born, but at least it doesn't corrupt my mind!

Well for one, that wasnt Mario 64, and two that will influence you as well.

Do you know how many people have died trying to spit fire from their mouths, and from eating magic mushrooms?

Anyway...rap music has formed a culture and various sub cultures, violent games haven't done the same thing.

Have you seen what has happened to youth in England, having been heavily influenced by rap music?

Look up the word chav or townie in urban dictionary, it's a serious problem.

Not to get too involved in hip-hop talk, but video games (violent or otherwise) have a craaaaazy culture and a number of very hardcore subcultures going. I'd say, at this point, video games have a more defined and distinct culture than rap does.

That said, I can't tell if Insatiable was being funny or not. Hmmm...
