From Axl Rose: "I have a different physical constitution and different mindset about drugs than anybody I've known in Hollywood, because I don't abstain from doing drugs, but I won't allow myself to have a fuckin' habit. I won't allow it."[37
Now WHO SAYS THAT??? That is from your favorite band Guns 'n Roses, which i quote you said is REAL music.
You have basically said that rap music makes people to yearn for wealth. bla bla bla. i read your posts! YET YOU SUSCRIBE to this kind of nonsense. Your whole argument fell apart.
Your brains must've fallen apart somewhere between reading my post and typing that misguided commentary. What the hell does your Rose quote prove? All you can infer is that he uses drugs casually ("I don't abstain from doing drugs") and not habitually ("I won't allow myself to have a fuckin' habit"). Be that as it is, he still makes excellent music. However, the pursuit of material wealth (cars, jewellery, clothing, etc.) is far from being central in GnR's music, yet in 95% of rap it is. This idealization of material wealth, not drug use among performers, is what causes frustration among rap fans; no other genre of music makes materialism so salient.

ill concede that not all rap is like that, but as one person mentioned, most mainstream rap is about that
basically, the lead singer of GnR made racist remarks. They said something about "niggers" and "faggots" . (the lead singer is white).
And for your information, for example, David Banner wrote a song caleld "Get Like Me" which is a single. But on the rest of the album, not all his songs are about material wealth.
I am saying that you should reserach more into a form of music before you condemn all that you see on TV. Ofcourse the media is going to profit off the singles, etc. of rap music videos and rappers who talk about money, etc. But if you listen to their albums, it is a different matter. And you have to understand where rap came from. I am not saying that I live the "rap life" i am just saying that I respect and understand the culture of "how you say stuff" that really matters in their rhymes.
If you want to judge others music, then your music IS equally valid for negative judgement!!
haha good job using wikipedia It was in the song "One in a million" great song, i recommend you listen to it for some good music and take a break from the crap you listen to.
yeah, i guess somebody shouldn't have been throwing careless statements around.... :shade:
I wasn't throwing around careless statements, YOU were the one who had to make up statements I supposedly said, like claiming rap was about drugs.
You were the one carelessly making up statements at your own desire.
You didn't make one valid point, and again you continue to ignore anything I even said. Anyway, I'm done, cause you still havent even said anything about making up that statement. :zip:

How the hell did you kick me when I'm down?
Why don't you man up already and admit you had to make up a lie to attack my logic buddy.
Why is it I've asked you about 5 times now when I said rap music was about drugs and you haven't responded once to it? Same with me acknowledging all rap isnt about negative messages.
Don't quit on my part, if you want to pussy out then just admit it. I've argued on here many times with several people attacking my point of view. Use your logic, if your point is so valid.
But first, acknowledge my posts which you've been conveniently ignoring and just attacking me anyway.

I'm saying I never claimed rap music is about drugs, just a lot of it about materialistic and intellectually un-profound stuff, but not all of it.
For once I'm in an e-fight I wasn't even trying to pick ;-(
Copy someone else's beat and write some words to say!
