Old Textbooks....
What the hell do i do with all of them?
Obviously i was too stupid to cash in on the buyback thing, so now i have a billion editions of books that are too old and are not used in the classes anymore....im guessing they dont use old editions anyway.
So....any suggestions on what i can do with them? Do you think anyone would actually want to buy these if i posted them up on craigslist or something? Are they even worth anything????
Or do i just throw them in the trash? :(
Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!

I usually sell mine. Except CCW, which is retarded because they change all the time. Keeping them would look to me like just a sunk cost and that's so depressing lol.
or recycle
There are groups for that sort of thing?? But do people actually buy old editions of textbooks? I guess the editions dont change that much when compared to each other, so that could be a good idea.
I just hate having books around that i will never read again.
and LOL @ IVT....that thought has actually crossed my mind! I could have a little bonfire :D
I try and post it after ever semester cuz most profs still use the same books. Some new editions just add like an extra word or period and they call it a NEW "EDITION". Like wtf!?
If you search "SFU textbook" or something in the groups, you'll see a few of them. Oh, post on UBC and BCIT groups as well, cuz they sometimes use the same books. I've sold some / bought some textbooks off BCIT students personally.
Question (and it might be dumb, but oh well): how do i know what to price my books at? Most of mine are in pretty good condition....some are highlighted throughout or halfway through or whatever, but none of them are terrible. Is there a way to know the pricing for them, cuz i cant remember what i paid for them....maybe the more recent ones i have the receipts for and can find out that way, but the older ones, no way.
but i did keep some, and sometimes i find myself reading them on topics we did not cover in class... i guess the nerd gene is strong in me LOL
but really im probably going to ebay them, although shipping will be more as their heavy
Would SFU buy books like these?
In case you are wondering, it is HUM-201 and the book is Troilus and Cressida.
If you look closely, theres some remnants of my psyc 385 textbook
i've had a prof who bought our books back and sold them next semester
But ive realized that i havent really read half of them and the other half were a waste of time to read in the first place.
Also, I keep a few "coffee table" textbooks just for decoration. Yesssss!
I may just do that, with a slight variation. I will tell him that I want to sell the text and he will tell his class about it.
I keep the books i find interesting too.
Everything else (which is most of the books I'm ever required to buy) I sell at 70% the price of the bookstore.
