There is no school spirit because there is absolutely nothing to be proud of at SFU. Seriously, I've probably attended the institution longer than most of this forum's users have, so my opinion is based on much observation.
Agree.
The AQ has fucking moss growing on top of it and nobody bothers to clean it up. I mean sports teams aside, our architecture isn't exactly in awe-inspiring. The AQ tutorial rooms aren't exactly in immaculate condition. Must I even mention the library, the RBC, the Rotunda, and the computer labs?
I am cool with the architecture. I like the ascetic.
And don't anybody give me shit about my comments, because deep down y'all know I'm right :shade:
Yes, however you, like many others, concerned more with what's not as important, such as out-of-class activities and environment. I am heavily concerned with the academic side of problems.
I, again, will express my displeasure with SFU's inability to provide students with the classes they need. It seems that every year there is always two to three Peak articles about someone being unable to register for the courses they need. My GPA is taking a severe pounding right now because I am unable to register for courses needed for my two programs.
Also, the administration is very unaccountable. For example, how many times do you read about the registrar or admission office messing up someone's transcript or transfer credit and they have to waste another year up here. If people can get fired for peeking at McCain, Obama, and Clinton's passport, then the SFU administration should be publicly beheaded for what they repeatedly do. To demonstrate, I actually wrote to the Peak about this in a letter. Just read it. http://www.peak.sfu.ca/the-peak/2007-2/issue9/le-lotw.html
that's so not nice of you.. =( keep in mind that while your intentions were to exclusively burn him.. you're burning a couple of others too.. :embarassed:
I find it interesting. I've attended a total of three universities now, some private and small, some large and public. I've also discussed this with friends of mine at varying other institutions across the US and everyone thinks their school is the pits (except for my friend at Harvard hah). Each school has their strengths and weaknesses. It appears many aren't so fond of the architectural layout of SFU's campus. Having never been there, the photos do emulate some eerie prison-style footprint. However, the buildings shouldn't mean a fuck to you guys. As some one put, its the academics that count, not whether or not the stairs creek or there's some moss scattered about.
Ok, I think everyone knows that the Sauder school of business is about 100 times better than SFUs. Don't lie to yourself.
Really? I've only ever heard that from UBC students. Yeah, "Sauder School of Business" sounds a lot more prestigious and sophisticated, but I've asked around and most people tell me the two schools are about the same, with SFU Business maybe a bit better. I've had a few of really smart people from my HS with scholarships offered from both schools choose SFU Business over Sauder.
What I've heard is that UBC's faculty is called commerce while SFU's faculty is called business. Thus, people (SFU bus. students) say they are better than the ones at UBC.

So you hate the school you attend and now you belittle your peers?
What a REBEL. Give yourself a pat on the back. Really, you deserve it.
Fun tip for the first year students: Put on a smiley face when you go to school and work but secretly hate the fuck out of your peers and wish failure and death upon them so that you succeed by default. You will win at life.
Who the fuck are you to say which school of BUSINESS is better at what they do? Hurry up and graduate - then take a big shit on your degree, then you won't need to say where you got it from.

no need for harsh language as the great Tim Robbins says.. "don't so fuck so many times... makes it more powerful"

anger much? regardless of which school is better are you posting from an account other than your main, and hiding under this guise? or do you just wait for her posts whenever you post
@ randomuser: I don't know if you are referring to me or not, but it is not me because if I were to call out someone for being dumb I wouldn't go and hide under some secondary account.
i was refering to whoever he or she is, ive already noticed you will say things under your own account ;)
And how do you know he is? Oh and I've just replied to your message -- I guess your theory is out the window
What I'm ''angry'' at is people like her who despite attending this institution is able to point fingers at her own peers and claim that they're inferior to students from other schools. I'm not saying we're the best of the best -- but talk about hiding behind a computer spreading negativity. I'm not the one who needs a disguise for my words.

That's the beauty behind being anonymous... you can be as opinionated as you want and no one can personally attack you in RL. So there's no real point in anyone creating a second account in this forum to use to attack people unless they are not anonymous.
I agree with your point getoveryourself. It pisses me off how a fellow SFU student can badmouth SFU in such a manner. It seems to me that so many SFU students just focus on the cons of our school. By focusing on these cons, sometimes their perception of them is quite exaggerated or even completely false and warped.
It is nice to know that there are SFU students out there that are proud of their school and don't allow their peers' negative rants brainwash them.

LOL @ people posting under fake accounts! I only used said that "hiding behind your computer" remark to two people on here: IVT & JayDub.....so....yah.
Listen bud, i can have whatever opinions i want about SFU. Its my school too and i think its a complete shithole.
You dont like what i have to say about my school, i could care less. I have opinions just like everyone else on here has. You dont like mine, well good for you, have a great day.
Oh believe you me, anything I say on the internet I would have no problem saying in real life if you said the same thing to me, unfortunately I do not see most of you at school so I unfortunately can't.
Anyways...

its a lot more fun watching girls and guys argue in real life cause it rarely happens, i once watched this chick in my high school who was 225 pounds beat the shit out of some 6'2 175 guy and repeatedly slam him into a locker and he wouldnt fight back and couldnt run

i agree.. people should cool down.. so what if people have multiple accounts.. that's their prerogative.. this forum doesn't stop you from doing it so if you don't like it go get another account yourself and bash it out.. and really.. if you have evidence to back it up.. share so everyone's on the same page.. there's really no need to start finger pointing who's a fake and who isn't because in the end.. who's going to prove it?
on the other hand.. summer's almost here and the exams are close being done.. there's no need for the hate and people bashing..
