I think Im going to be as bitter as student0667

I feel pathetic begging all these advisors to get into courses I dont have pre reqs for

    I am not that bitter now that I have discovered a series of backdoor approaches to getting classes that I want.

    Erm...

    You don't even have the pre-req for the course, how fair is it to the people who have the pre-req and couldn't get into the course if you can?

    well, why should someone get in without any pre-reqs? it makes no sense to me

    it happens all the time
    a lot of the time they don't care but you have to wait for a certain date before your allowed in to make sure you don't take someone's spot who has the pre-reqs.

    Are u guys sure?? i wanted to get into phys but it has a math coreq (not avail. sin summer). i emailed the phys advisor and he said theres no way he could waive it.

    Well I see it all the time in criminology and sociology
    Might be different for sciences, pre-reqs are probably more important there, haha

    its in the universities best interest to let me into classes with 50 open seats that im obviously going to pass, more money for them for a seat that would be empty all semester

    in fact; several departments say to wait until the third week then ask for waivers for courses, which is what several department advisors told me

    its third week as of now

    im literally trying to get into ANY 300 or 400 level course, id prefer a few crim since thats my program but ill take what i can get at this point

    So I just spent the past 3 hours looking through the entire course catalogue again, I was able to enroll in CMPT 320

    I now have two classes CMPT 320 and POLI 411...woo hoo

    so do u have to take upper level courses in order to get the scolarship??? take a language course or sumthing

    no, i need to have a certain amount of classes to maintain my scholarship...

    but cause of how far am into my major, i dont need anymore 100 and 200 level courses...cause my degree requires me to have x amount in upper division (300, 400), so if i take any 100 or 200 level classes it means its just a waste of my money and time

    problem is i dont have the pre reqs for basically anything besides crim classes because of how the breadth requirements made me split up all my classes i wasnt able to make a good focus in any subjects...besides psyc, which has its own pre reqs for its upper div

    if you're looking for upper division classes with no prereqs, alot of IAT classes only have completion of 48 credit hours as a prereq. so you could check those out.

    for some reason i thought i saw i needed some kind of permission but ill take a look at those again...there seems to be discrepancies between the catalogue and registration system ive found

    oh reallyy..? i guess they dont open as many up during summer semesters...i forgot to actually check if they opened up sections before i made that suggestion...
