I think the 360 is much better right now. The selection of games for it is much better than that of the PS3. i have about 10 games and still have to play through more than half of em. Mostly cuz call of duty 4 is THE most addicting game.
Also PS3 is technically better considering specs and whatnot but its not gonna top the 360 for another 2-3 years. Its online sucks but thats what free gets u these days. Its also a pretty slow machine with long load times which can get annoying. Xbox live is much better but u gotta pay, and u can download movie rentals which is cool.
When it comes down to it, its all bout the games so 360>PS3
360 is better, and will be for a while. It'll take the PS3 at least into '09 to catch up, and that's best-case scenario. And, happily enough, it'll probably get another price drop by then. :)
I'm holding off on both of them for a while. In fact, maybe I won't even bother. For whatever gaming urges I have that aren't satisfied by my SNES or NES, I have my computer :D
Video games are the best way to relieve exam stress...study for an hour or two, play 20 minutes of video games, get a cup of tea, and keep going with the books...get a lot done in a short amount of time and have fun ;)
I'm holding out for PS3 to win in the end. I think it holds much more potential in the long-run than the 360. And Sony has been known to throw in a bunch of surprise first-party titles into the mix a couple of years into the life of the console. But nowadays, since most popular games are out on multiple platforms anyway, I don't think it really matters which system you get.
PS3 has outsold the XBox 360 in January and February...the games are getting better because the developers are finally starting to maximize the hardware's potential. Seriously, you haven't played COD4 until you've played it on PS3 in high def...it's seriously sick...NHL08 is fun too. And GTA IV and Metal Gear Solid are coming out this year for PS3...not to mention NFS: Pro Street which is also very fun

Dude Cod4 is so much better on the 360. While the graphics are essentially the same, xbox live is far more superior than PS3's online. On live theres way more games available all the time and it runs way smoother.
Also, about bluray on the ps3, i dont think it will make a difference in the long run. Most ppl say bluray wont be as much as a success as DVD was. The 360 will be on top for sure if they can get the digital downloads right.

I don't see digital downloading being that big. I'd rather pay a little extra and have a case and have a fancy collection to show off than open a folder and say "look at my collection!" I assume a lot of people are like that, I could be wrong though.

Well, all you really is an HDMI cable (2.99 on Ebay). Most TV's sold nowadays have at least the one slot for for this purpose -- that's even simpler than VCRs and DVD players :shade: And then all you need is to throw away (or recycle :angel:) that tube TV for a flat panel and you're set.

Also, I'm not one to have DVD collections and such, but I agree w/ Triple on the point that people DO like to have their 'special edition box sets'. Companies can't make money off of 'Limited Edition' downloads.

I have played CoD4 on both consoles, and I can tell you that there is ZERO difference, except for the superior online play on XBox Live.
haha I remember being on the gamefaqs forum, xbox people arguing COD4 is wayyyyyyyyy better on the 360 because in the first training level thing when you pick up your very first gun, the shadow on the ps3 version is jaggy.
for those bitching between DVD (and i assume ur talking HD DVD cuz reg dvd's wouldn’t come close to blue ray...) I suggest u guys get up to date on current events... HD DVD is over.. and has been announced for some time...
Here's my perspective... Blu Ray is obviously the next medium for video but the idea of digital downloads has been floating around for some time now. Movie studios prefer physical media because that is how they are used to making money and they have full control over that method of delivery. However, if digital downloads became popular, Sony and Microsoft would both make a lot of money since they come with big hard drives already (which are only gonna get cheaper and bigger in the future) as well, most gamers are connected with high speed connections. On my PS3, you can go to the playstation store and stream bluray quality trailers to your PS3. I was watching the one for Kung Fu panda on my slightly less then high def tv and was amazed at the quality. And the fact that it can stream is a huge convenience factor for people who don't care to own the actual DVD (not everyone is into collecting things).
PS3 is sold out everywhere right now. Reason is that there are a bunch of great games coming out this year for the PS3 (metal gear solid, gta IV, NHL 09) AS WELL as the BluRay victory because as I explained, PS3 can benefit from both physical blu ray discs and online versions (advantage to them is that it costs nothing for them to distribute digitally so therefore more profit).
Having one great looking system which, by the way has a built in browser with full functionality (ie. youtube), and Blu Ray playback, and great looking games...its a multi talented entertainment device that goes perfect with any high def tv...it just gives you more than XBox 360

Well, if i had to buy the thing myself I probably wouldn't have gotten it until the end of this year, but it was a gift, lol
most of the multi-platform games or whatever they are called, are better on the 360, well not so much anymore, but for the first year.
Of course many of the issues I don't even notice, like screen tearing, how the hell do you notice that when the game is going 100mph, lol
