    I'm good for Metrotown.

March 1 is fine with me, assuming I am invited...

P.S: By Metrotown that everyone appears to be supporting, you are refering to the Metrotown where the 144 bus ends, right?

Am I not a member long enough to warrant an invitation?

True-dat, but NOT big enough. It only has 4 person booths. Unless you guys are cool-wit-dat.

Have we consider meeting up at SFU Burnaby? This place should be accessable for pretty much everyone, afterall we come up here almost every single day and the place shouldn't be too crowded on a Saturday afternoon.

However, if you guys have problem with going up to SFU Burnaby, we can also consider meeting up at SFU Harbor Center or SFU Surrey.

Because nobody wants to go to school on the weekend.
We're not nerdy-folks! We should go out and play too :)
    Plus, SFU is no fun!

The only good meeting place at SFU is the pub, which doesn't work well on the weekend. :) I'd be down for Cactus Club. They are able to push tables together, you know. :)
  • edited February 2008
It's best for the location to be somewhere in vancouver.
  • edited February 2008
    Metrotown sounds good.

I've been to the one by Metro and 90% of the space is booths. So unless we get some crowbars and rip them off the walls, they're not pushable ^______^ hahaha.

I've been to the Metro Cactus Club with 8 people before, but I dunno if they have room to accomodate more than that.

Nobody is cool with someplace downtown? Doesn't matter to me, Metro is cool. Any place that's skytrain accessible, count me in.
  • edited February 2008
A place in downtown is a good idea.
  • edited February 2008
Hmmm near Metro there is also Red Robin and Boston Pizza.

How about bubble tea? Though I don't know any places near a skytrain station... There are Bubble Worlds a few blocks away from Metrotown and Lougheed.
  • edited February 2008
Ya, I don't see how a restaurant wouldn't be accommodating for groups -- I've never been to the Cactus Club in Burnaby, but the one on Robson is super tight, yet they push tables together if need be.
Anything else in that area that's similar? I don't know Burnaby very well.

    Ladies and gentlemen,

May we keep the discussion for meetup location at the TALKSFU.ca MEETUP location thread?

    Thanks,

    Student0667
  • edited February 2008
LOL. No point in moving now we're finally getting some good input ^____^
  • edited February 2008
If people are talking downtown, we could always do Milestones on Robson. They have a huge table up top and they take reservations for groups I believe. Skytrain accessible as well.
Unless that's too far. It seems to be either Burnaby/Vancouver for most people.
  • edited February 2008
actually the burnaby cactus club can't accomodate all of us, the biggest table they had was for our party of 10 and it was uncomfortable to say the least to fit into it.

to be honest i'm down with any place as i can drive, but its for the transit people ensure that the locations are accessible via skytrain preferably.

boston pizza at lougheed (or metro) isn't a bad idea, they have a bar and the food isn't exactly over priced?
