actually the burnaby cactus club can't accomodate all of us, the biggest table they had was for our party of 10 and it was uncomfortable to say the least to fit into it.
to be honest i'm down with any place as i can drive, but its for the transit people ensure that the locations are accessible via skytrain preferably.
boston pizza at lougheed (or metro) isn't a bad idea, they have a bar and the food isn't exactly over priced?
I'm up for Boston Pizza. The one at Lougheed has a HUGE area they can put tables together. I had a group of 50 go there one time, it was funny lol.
Post if you want on, or if you're on but can't come. BTW, current count: 8 MEN, 6 girlies. This is officially the greatest female-to-male ratio in the history of internet meetups. =) Coming in at a close second is the meetup from www.menstruation.com, I believe.
I don't think she will be showing up, not since everyone told her that what she thought about Vancouver's housing prices, was wrong, and she decided that she didn't want to come here anymore because she can't find a intelligent discussion on a university thread. She hasn't even been online since that day.

Look again, I was on yesterday while i was at work.
I could care less what everyone said about housing prices in Vancouver, I have my opinions on it and thats all that matters to me, so carrying on with that thread was pointless. I havent come on here because I have been busy with school and more important things than arguing with people on here :) They can have their opinions and i have mine on that topic.
But really, thanks for assuming why i didnt come on here for about a week. Omg a whole week! That means im gone forever!! Sorry, no. Oh and thanks for looking at my profile to see when i was online last. Nice to know that you missed me so much.
As for the meet up, I doubt i'll be there....of course, i havent read through the entire thread so i really have no idea when or where it is, all i see is a bunch of possible days at the top. As i said, Im far too busy with more important things at the moment.
^ to condense the whole entire thread.. i think it's been set on March 1st which is a Saturday.. the time and location hasn't been confirmed yet but we'll let everyone know once it's settled..
I could care less what everyone said about housing prices in Vancouver, I have my opinions on it and thats all that matters to me, so carrying on with that thread was pointless.
Well, this statement begs the question: "Why even start a thread on an internet message board asking for others' opinions if you don't even give a fuck about their opinions in the first place?"
You asked, in the thread YOU started, and I quote:
Im thinking that this might not be possible, and ive been thinking it for a while. But god, what are my other options? The rest of Canada is absolutely awful....harsh climates, no beautiful scenery.
But is that worth staying here for? The mountains? The ocean?
What are the rest of yours pros and cons lists?
Anyhow, sorry for the digression, but I just wanted an explanation about the constant stream of bullshit that keeps coming from this one, seemingly unreasonable, close-minded individual.
Anyhow, I'll most likely be working that day, and I work downtown, so if it was someplace downtown, I could easily skip out for a few hours. If it's farther, I wouldn't mind taking a day off. But yeah, downtown would be my first choice.
^I stated my own opinions and was told that i was wrong by others. I even put up stats on housing prices and I was criticized saying that i was wrong and that my sources were "outdated" when infact they were from only a year and a half ago.
I do not want to argue with people who obviously love Vancouver so much that they cant even fathom to think that anywhere else in Canada might possibly be better than here. That is why I did not want to carry on with the thread.
People can call me all the names they want, u really think it affects me from what ive written in the past? Ive realised that I can not talk to some of you on here because you are so passionate about this city, and thats fine, but dont call me "insane" or whatever other names you have for me because you do not agree with my opinion.
I asked for a pros and cons list and a few people actually did give their list but others just disagreed with mine (which they are allowed to do) but they did so in a way that i found to be very rude. Therefore, I wrote my responses back based on that.
As I said, im done with the topic. I have talked about this topic with several other people at school and, surprise surprise, a lot of them said themselves (before i ever said anything at all about Vancouver!) that Vancouver might not be the best place to live because of: a) Job oppotunities b) Housing prices c) Overall "fun" of the city (which might not be a very good reason, but its what they said nonetheless)
So, to sum up, I do not "give a fuck" about other people's opinions on here because of how i was treated in regards to my thread topic. I did care at first, I wanted to hear what people had to say, but not when they call me names and think that they know everything in the world. When they do that, then no i do not give a fuck about their opinion.
Thanks so much but I am quite done with that topic now.
. .. ... .... ... .. .
In regards to the topic at hand, which is the meeting, Saturday March 1st does not work for me....I am helping my bf move into his new place which I think is more important than meeting a bunch of people on a forum board.
But really, thanks for assuming why i didnt come on here for about a week. Omg a whole week! That means im gone forever!! Sorry, no. Oh and thanks for looking at my profile to see when i was online last. Nice to know that you missed me so much.
