The radio said 1000 people slept in the gyms there
I feel for those people. I would HATE to have to do something like that.
I don't think it is 1000, it is more like 200. However, I heard that they have to sleep on the wrestling mats. This is quite disgusting if you think about it. Afterall, they never washed or change the mat and the sweats pretty much dripped onto and seeped into the mat.

DID you know SFU has a hotel?
Yeah, Simon Hotel. It is on top of Building B in Residence along with other vacant rooms in Residence.
You get a pass because you're a chick. But I seriously, really really don't like this. I don't like the idea that we are systematically afraid of our fellow man. Some retard reactionary in government decided they were going to pass some utterly demented law about hitchhikers, and now we look at each other with suspicion and fear. God damn it. I pick of hitchhikers whenever I get the chance. As I said, it's different for a girl, but still.
I'm not saying that ALL hitchhikers are bad people, nor for those who pick up hitchhikers. Some are probably very nice normal people. BUT, and this is a huge 'but,' there are some out there that are NOT normal.
And do i really want to take that chance? What if i get into a car with a seemingly nice guy, and the next thing i know, hes driving into the woods or some isolated place. Now, could i really fend off a guy? Probably not. And im fine with admitting that. Hell, i should probably take some self-defense courses, but would that really help me? We're in his car....what if he has a knife, a gun, tackles me, whatever. What if??
My point is, why put yourself in that position when you could completely avoid it.
I'm glad that girl got home safely, but i honestly think it was very stupid of her to get into a car with some guy that she didnt know, even if he was cute. You have to protect yourself.
And yes, its sad that we're afraid of our fellow man, but thats how it is. I would rather be afraid of my fellow man and be safe and alive rather than trusting everyone and wind up murdered somehow.
Might be extreme, but sometimes you have to think that way.
