Maybe it's just me, but I've always been afraid of picking up hitchhikers.

Me too. You just never know with people what they are like. Sure, i could be doing a good deed, but its not so good if they beat me up, rape me, steal my purse and my car, and leave me for dead somewhere.

No thanks. You've got to think about your safety. Doors stay locked and i drive right past.

You get a pass because you're a chick. But I seriously, really really don't like this. I don't like the idea that we are systematically afraid of our fellow man. Some retard reactionary in government decided they were going to pass some utterly demented law about hitchhikers, and now we look at each other with suspicion and fear. God damn it. I pick of hitchhikers whenever I get the chance. As I said, it's different for a girl, but still.

I think it'd have to depend on what the person looks like. If the hitchhiker is some 7ft tall black guy with tattoos and iron chains all over, I'd make sure my doors are locked and not make any eye contact.

As of 11:25, it is snowing again. It better not be like this next week because I got a blood donation appointment at 4:15.

There was a towtruck driver who was a serial killer - let's all towers.

...actually that one might not be a bad idea. Hm.

Point is, YES, I know, there are bad people out there. But I just hate what it implies about our jaded cynical society that we are, by default, terrified of one another. Especially when it relates to a situation where someone might need help. It's an example of a time when fear of one another could very easily harm the other person.

i was just pointing out a fact, haha. I didn't mean they all are. I'm white, in my 20s, im not a serial killer! lol

I've picked up a hitch hiker before.
I think he was an alcoholic, it was 11am and he smelled like booze, and was dirty and probably in his 50s... who knows maybe it was just a good night, haha

Look like this blizzard is over, for now. Hopefully, I can get off this glacier this Friday for Chinese New Year and get back up on Saturday. Can't believe people actually have to stay overnight up here last night...
