You've got it the other way around. I mean, you don't specifically look for a guy WITH a car, I'm just saying that if you find a guy who HAS a car it will be a lot better for your relationship.

How do you expect to get a girlfriend if you dont even have a car (or the will to get on a bus for two hours to go see her)?
Focus on getting a car first.
Just sayin.
Sounds more like a requirement than a preference, wouldn't you say?
Your girls are expecting too much and that makes many guys re-evaluate what kind of girl to look for. I will settle for a girl who has less expectations of a guy than a girl who expects you to have a car. You can take that "my boyfriend better have a car attitude" out the door. I know many couples that are from East Asia who are happy to take the bus together. Where-ever and whenever as long as they are together.
There are single girls everywhere, in fact more than half of the chicks on my facebook is single. Just start being more outgoing and talk to people in your tutorials.
As for the car thing, it's just that it's hard to get around without one. If u have to spend 2 hours on the bus just to see your girl, eventually u'll get lazy and stop spending so much time with her.

I guess it just kind of gets to me how people complain about taking transit here. I'm from Toronto, where transit REALLY sucks, and getting around is something to bitch about, but in Vancouver, everything is so accessible by transit. So unless you live in Coquitlam, and your girlfriend lives in Richmond, I don't see how travelling by transit would be so much of an issue.

I've been to Toronto - their subway system was like heaven. I never used transit outside the city core, but at least in the heart of Toronto, it seemed fantastic.

Not a lot of people choose to live directly downtown though. I find most people live around the area, like Mississauga, Woodbridge, Brampton, etc. From those parts, it's ridiculous how long you have to go around to get places by transit.
It's not like, going from Coquitlam to downtown Vancouver, just hop on the skytrain. Toronto (by which I mean the GTA) doesn't have just one transit company, each municipality has their own system (Brampton Transit, Mississauga Transit, TTC, etc), which obviously only run in their local area. The GO transit isn't too bad, but way to pricey, and they're not much quicker.
Ive dated guys who didnt have cars....nice assumption that you thought i was a gold digger. And guess what, i ended up picking up them to go for dates. It makes it a lot easier if you both have cars, and yes, im happy that my bf has a car.
My point is that if he doesnt want to spend 2 hours on a bus to get to school to go to club meetings, then why would he spedn 2 hours on a bus to go and see a gf?
Pay attention please, thanks.
Oh and ps, im not a gold digger whatsoever. I could care less how much my bf makes, and trust me, Ive dated guys in the past who made barely anything at all. So dont assume things about people that you dont know.

LOLZ, I did pay attention to what you said. It was as follows:

"How do you expect to get a girlfriend if you dont even have a car" as quoted verbatim, meaning that without a car, you should not expect to get a girlfriend. How else should I interpret this nugget of wisdom passed down by your highness?
My point is that if he doesnt want to spend 2 hours on a bus to get to school to go to club meetings, then why would he spedn 2 hours on a bus to go and see a gf?
girls > clubs
girls > school
Period.
I would not mind sitting on a bus for three hours to go see a girl....if she is nice. If she is a spoiled gold-digger, I would not waste 2 minutes to go see her.

The way you put it makes it just sound like a mandatory requirement; it makes you look like a golddigger as well. and "Focus on getting a car first".. is that what we're really focused on? getting a car so our girlfriends can brag about our gold and our hot rides?

well from what you wrote in the previous quote, it pretty much gives away what you would expect FIRST.
I could expect having a girlfriend without having a car, and it wouldn't be better for the relationship to have one, it would just be more convenient. Suddenly now just owning a car would make that big of a difference? Most of us have to bus to school anyways, for school, not just for girls. But the fact we can't even "expect to get a girfriend if we don't even have a car" sounds like the first thing you want in a guy is his ownership of a car.
You see.. there's girls who like your money, girls who like you car, girls who like to sip champagne and feed on caviar.. but I want a woman in love
Everyone has a different lifestyle. If a girl is used to being driven around in a car, her expectations of her boyfriend will be at least that much. That's just how people are, it's not about whether someone is a golddigger or not. It's about their standards. Say a girl loves you enough that she is willing to drop her standards, then thats awesome.
But realistically, love only gets you so far. I'm speaking from personal experience here. I had a girlfriend who used to drive me around everywhere, but I could never really do anything for her since I didn't drive. She didn't care that I didn't have a car, but the fact that I couldn't take her out for dates when I wanted to or go buy her a present when I needed to really added strain to our relationship and ultimately we ended up breaking it off.
Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that everyone has different standards and they expect their partner to maintain those standards to some extent. Love is subjective but it is the best thing ever...it's just hard to find.
"You see.. there's girls who like your money, girls who like you car, girls who like to sip champagne and feed on caviar.. but I want a woman in love"
*applause* i couldn't agree more furia.. but let's not forget it goes both ways... you see.. there's guys who like money.. guys who like your looks.. guys who like your bust n booty and will parade you around like a trophy prize.. but above it all.. most ladies here just want to be loved too.. =)
I have dated guys who didnt have cars in the past and i could have cared less then. My bf right now lives in Coquitlam, so he drives to see me and i drive to see him....its a two-way thing, its not just one person driving to see the other all the time.
And yes, im very happy that my bf has a car cuz it DOES make it a lot easier for us. In the past, it was difficult to be with my bf's who didnt have cars cuz, guess what, i didnt like being their chauffeur all the time.
As for what i said eariler, you should pay attention to what i said in brackets that you didnt put in bold type. I said something along the lines of (cuz i dont have my exact wording in front of me) "or the will to get on a bus for two hours to go and see her."
I stand by what i said. A car is a necessity, and no, it doesnt have to be flashy and pretty, it can be a crappy old thing, as long as it gets you from point A to point B. A car is handy, and anyone who disagrees with that is lying. Im sure everyone here would want a car to go and see their bf/gf. Dont even try to say you wouldnt.
So in conclusion, I like the fact that both me and my bf have cars. Would i stop dating him if he didnt have one? Of course not because I love him and dont care about his car. I'd go and pick him up everyday if i had to, and im sure he would do the same for me.
But the person who started this thread i do believe said that he wouldnt go on a bus for two hours to go to clubs at school....so why would he spend two hours two hours on the bus to go and see his gf? Then i said that he should concentrate on getting a car first before a gf cuz obviously he doesnt have the will to sit on the bus for two hours for a girl....so get a car and then its easier.

There's two sides to it, and I understand what baby e is saying. I guess I always just equated girls wanting guys with cars to "gold-diggers". That's a narrow-minded and judgmental viewpoint on my part. Girls like that just piss me off to no end, especially when I hear about it from friends, so you can see why I got with the attacking and whatnot.
Anyhow, yeah, let's just drop that whole ordeal and help the single guys on here locate some girls. May I suggest the ladies' room?

Thank you. But i do realise that there are girls like that, that are only out for a guy's money and car and all of those nice things. I am not like that however. Its about the guy himself, and he can have all the money in the world, but if he has a shitty attitude and personality and doesnt treat me nicely, i wont even look twice at him.
But i do agree that its sad that there are girls that are only out for money. Money is nice to have, i wont deny that, but its not the most important thing overall.
Perhaps, instead of looking for girls, one should look for women that are hot and spicy. Maybe, the distinction between a girl and a woman, is the problem. I have not had any problems finding women on campus that are single. Also, one may even accept they just say that they have a BF, rather then hurt your feelings, by saying 'Hell, No! I do not wish to go out with you or be your GF!"
Good Luck...they are just waiting for a man instead of a boy!

IF High-Maintenance is what you are looking for...then be prepared to pay. I am sure that most of the women on campus are not high-maintenance. That they can be reasonable. That is also, if you are looking to having a family after or during being at university. This can complicate such matters. (KISS). If you are simply looking for a one-night stand; get a room and invite someone that is just there for the sex. Other then that, study, get the paper and then attend to having a relationship. Everything else is just lust or friendship.

HAHAHA!! Read the whole thread, then reevaluate that statement.
Why would anybody want to go to university for anything other than a degree? You are better off getting the paper then getting a high paying job if you want to start a family. Kids don't buy their own food, you know...
