I always see lots of hot girls on the skytrain and bus but I never really know how to approach em... and even if I do some of them give off a lot of attitude for absolutely no reason

Didn't one of the girls on here complain once that the cute guys never start conversations with her on the bus or something like that?

Well.....we don't start the conversations because:

    1) you will think we are creeps/perverts/rapists AND/OR
    2) you emit the "I'm-the-shit" attitude

Girls are NOT subtle. They knew when they want to be approached, and very few of them will keep that desire out of their body language. If a girl is paying no attention to you at all, don't go talk to her. It's that simple.

Join some clubs? maybe you'll find some girls there at club events =)

SFU is the number one hookup uni specifically because of tutorials. :) It's hard to meet people in lectures, but tutorials give a more personal way of meeting.

and if we don't like any of the clubs or don't have the time to join any...then what?
  • edited September 2007
then stop hiding in your little rock and seriously start looking for a club.. there are many good clubs, you're just too lazy to look or you just don't care or try to care. Join a club. It's not like they expect you to be there every time. Just go when you feel like it. Free food??? restaurant quality free food? why not? lazy? maybe?

maybe it takes me 2 hours to get there and 2 hours to get home....there is no way i'm staying up there past 3pm
  • edited September 2007
well if you're already up there, make your time worthwhile. Besides, it really doesn't take up to an hour and half back. I've been there and I've gone from 3,4,5,6 pm. They're more or less the same time. you just gota act natural and budge in front on that 410. I do it all the time, but nobody gives a damn

ps. if you wana meet someone, you gota make effort, and I mean it by taking some time to join some clubs. No pain, no gain.

i hate how on the way back i have to wait for the 410 because the driver is eating/smoking/taking a leak. I understand that drivers need breaks, but can't they do 2-3 loops before taking a break?
  • edited September 2007
on the bus stop there is a schedule of 410 arrival times. they are 99% accurate. Even if you wait during that interval, the maximum total bus time will still be under an hour and twenty minutes. save yourself some walking distance. Upon arrival at RC, look at the 402 or 403 schedule, then decide if you should take them or not.

However, as we all know, this is matter where bus time is relatively minor. Those hours of sit-at-home-you-tubing or net-surfing time could be used a lot more wisely.

    You take the bus?

How do you expect to get a girlfriend if you dont even have a car (or the will to get on a bus for two hours to go see her)?

Focus on getting a car first.

    Just sayin.

Your next step is perhaps not needing someone to hold your hand and tell you where to find girls (not just any girls, but ones that are suitable to date).

Come on people, go out, get a hobbie, go to school/work, get involved in an extra-curricular activity, etc etc etc.

If you're looking for a gf, that means you prolly come off as looking desperate. Just go about your daily life and she will find you.

... MAKE TIME! haha, if you really want a girlfriend, you gotta find time. If you don't have time now, you won't have time for a girlfriend either =P

HAHA! A female friend of mine told me that girls who only date guys with cars aren't worth the time....and I totally agree.

I noticed that SFU has no photography club. Out of curiousity, how hard is it to start a club?

    easy for you to say.
a car is not a prerequisite for a girlfriend

    seesh

If I had a girlfriend I would rather have her be interested in me, not my ride or my gold. Most of us could at least drive but the majority of us take the bus or share the family car. The point is, if a chick doesn't want you because you don't have a car, she's definately not worth it anyway. (definately the kind of personality I'd stay away from)

Girls see things as symbols. Most likely, a girl is not attracted to the car itself, as in being a golddigging whore. She's probably attracted to the fact that the guy has worked hard, and made some money, a quality that she associates with the car.

The fact that ~85% of the people with cars had them bought and/or insured by rich daddy doesn't seem to phase them. ;)

damn i wish i had rich daddy so i didnt have to drive the piece of crap car i could afford, lol

it's not that they don't give a damn.. they're just giving you a break.. don't take your student status for granted.. =) besides.. everyone's probably too tired to say anything abt it..

Sounds like a requirement for a stuck-up, spoiled brat who needs her boyfriend to drive her around like a chauffeur, buy her nice things, and take her out to have expensive dinners.

    Just sayin.

If I found out that a girl only liked me because I had a nice car (which I don't, by the way, I'm car-less), I wouldn't bother with her. Way too many of those girls around, who just want a walking ATM machine. For shame.

Well I don't think that's her point. It's more convenient to see each other with a car, and you get more time with the other person whenever you want. If you don't, waiting for the bus, taking for the bus, then walking after getting off the bus to the destination does take a while, no matter how short the distance.

It's just a matter of time. Time is really important (I think) when in a relationship during school, because it IS hard to juggle if you have a full course load. I've had one too many arguments over this w/ my boyfriend =(

So let me get this straight....you meet this great guy, you guys click amazingly, he's everything you ever wanted in a guy and you think you can build an excellent, fulfilling relationship with him.....but if he doesn't have a car, you'll just date some schmoe who DOES have one, and can spend a lot of time with you....right...

My point is that there are many more important things to focus on than vehicular transport. If there really is chemistry, there are ways to make it work. Wanting a guy that has a car just narrows your candidates for guys. Basically, to me, that just means the girl wants a guy with money (or at least a guy whose parents will supply him with money, which, in my mind, is much worse because spoiled rich kids who are given everything to them on a silver platter make me sick). In the end, it just sounds like a very superficial requirement. Sure, everybody wants somebody who is physically attractive...but a guy who has a car too?

Is it just me, or does anybody else find something wrong with this?
  • edited September 2007
You've got it the other way around. I mean, you don't specifically look for a guy WITH a car, I'm just saying that if you find a guy who HAS a car it will be a lot better for your relationship.
  • edited September 2007
Your girls are expecting too much and that makes many guys re-evaluate what kind of girl to look for. I will settle for a girl who has less expectations of a guy than a girl who expects you to have a car. You can take that "my boyfriend better have a car attitude" out the door. I know many couples that are from East Asia who are happy to take the bus together. Where-ever and whenever as long as they are together.
