only take IAT courses if you're familiar with Adobe software - mostly photoshop and illustrator or if you're a complete beginner, it shouldn't be too hard anyway since the labs will teach you the basics
you're probably talking about iat 100 / 102 ... which you should be able to get around a B+.
i'd caution about 102, because you have to do a group project in that one. it's also very much design-related, if you're into that
i'm not so sure about iat 100 because it may have changed, and it also depends on who's teaching it. when i took it (in 2012), i had to use flash, but apparently it's different now, so i don't know =)
