Kicked out from wifi?

Just a couple hours ago I suddenly got limited/no connection on my laptop
I wasn't doing anything different from the norm so I thought it was just my laptop's fault; I tried to restart and see if it worked again but didn't
I went to the IT labs and took me the third computer (2 hours later) to be able to log in.
Was I banned from the system somehow?  I have yet to try if my laptop connects again

    I wasn't able to connect on my PC or phone and saw other people having the same problem. I'm pretty confident it wasn't an isolated incident.

    It was an SFU wide wifi breakdown of some sort, seemed to have fixed around 3:30 pm
