Does the edition of a textbook matter that much? (crim101)

I'm looking at getting the fourth edition of Canadian Criminology Today (the textbook required for crim101) instead of the fifth edition because of the price. Does anyone know the differences between the two books? Or if it will matter that I buy the edition before the one required?
