Which of these courses requires the LEAST amount of math skills and/or statistics? I am a arts GEOG major about to graduate, but I need one of these courses to fulfill the requirement, and even simple math is difficult for me.
Geog 251 is basically statistics. Geog 253 is remote sensing, and you will be dealing with numbers, but you won't actually do calculations, just punch in the formula. Geog 255 is pretty similiar.
So go for either 253 or 255, whichever you think it's more interesting. If 255 is with Nick Hedley, expect a lot of work as he has high expectations from project and the final can be quite a handful with some multiple choice, but also fill in the blanks.
Out of the 2, I would say 253 is the least stresfull/straight forward. The mark in 253/251 are not scaled and they use the 5%/letter grade sccheme
