Grade scale ambiguous

I received a grade of 89.5% and final letter grade has not come out yet but it is stated in the syllabus that a grade of 89% is a A- and 90% is a A. What would be my grade leaning toward?

I got 89.5% in a class and ended up with an A- instead of an A. Guess it depends on if the prof is nice enough to round or not

I was in this position once, but I had 89.6. I got an A-, I talked to the prof and he wouldn't bump me up. Maybe your prof will be nicer.

Yeah I have been on the cusp sometimes too. In my experience it depends on the class. I usually found that if there was a fixed grading scale mentioned in the syllabus they usually stick to it and do not round.When I would be rounded was usually in courses where the professor decided at the end what percent was required for each letter grade based on the general distribution within the class.

My prof had never replied back and I don't think they will change it as I rarely hear them do that! So frustrating!

Seriously I'm in Arts and Social Science and I've never had my grades scaled, is this a faculty thing like business and sciences?

This isn't a matter of scaling. It is a matter of rounding. It is not a faculty thing, but a professor thing.
