If RTW and what is the process to apply to college?

edited December 2013 in General
Hey guys,
So i am currently a 2nd year business student, i started scholl back in fall 2011 and i failed my accounting course in the spring term, so i was on probation back in spring. i took a semester off and decided to retake the accounting course with my 2 other credits for this term. But now i am done with my finals, i will only be able to stay if i pass the accounting course, but the final takes up more than half of the entire grade and i am not sure if i will be able to pass or not..

Anyways, if i am require to withdraw this semester and decide to apply to douglas, what are the procedures? Will there be any specific things that i need in order to apply?

If i am readmitted to sfu, which major would i be in? will i be able to stay in business or do i have to re-apply to it?

Thank you guys!!

  • I don't think you'll be able to get back into business. You need to get amazing marks at Douglas just to be allowed back to sfu. Go to the Douglas website and email their advisors.

@112233 So if i get readmitted, will i still be under AP and require to take other courses to boost up gpa? or can i transfer credit and be at good standing?
  • No you will not be on AP because you will be transfering your Douglas marks which will be like As and Bs. Have you looked up this information on the sfu site ? If not, go read it. Google academic difficulty sfu and you should be able to find it.
  • @112233 alright thank you! i have also read about the back on track program, if i have decided attend the program, will i be remaining in the same faculty or do i have to reapply to a certain faculty later on when i am done with the bot program?
  • I have no idea. Business is really competitive so I don't think so. Talk to the advisors as soon as you can. The ones I've spoken with have always been really nice and helpful.
  • When you transfer back, you'll continue to be on AP...SFU does not take marks from other institutions so the most you'll get are the credits you took which will transfer over (see BC transfer guide).  In regards to your major, if you've declared it then most likely you'll still be in your major, however business being so competitive and with such high level of requirement even if you're already a declared major you most likely have to re-apply again since you didn't keep up.
  • You don't need "amazing" marks to be re-admitted, it's according to how well you do and how many credits you take to get there...
  • Hmmmm you are so right about marks not transferring. I'm a transfer student myself i totally should have known better.
  • You don't.
