Only take the course if you are actually interested in learning it,and will put the time into it. Languages courses are not something you can cram. I took the course however i had the benefit of having family members who speak german. I think you will be fine as long as you want too learn.
It's not an easy course and not hard at the same time.
If English is your native language then it will be much easier for you. I took it for a week then I dropped the course. I found it too difficult for me as my native language is Arabic.
112233: Thanks for your comment! I am interested but I am scared at the same time. I think it's fun because I watch German TV shows with sub, it's really cool.
i took it a couple years ago. the course definitely didn't feel like work compared to any of my other courses, it was a nice change. (of course, i'm a CS student)
good prof also.
i have family members who speak german but i don't remember ever needing to rely on them for help.
