Internal transfer to science in sfu

edited November 2013 in General
Hey people,

Now it is the time to pick courses. Since I am first year in applied science computer science, I want to transfer to science in ubc second year. This is kinda my backup plan for not being able to transfer to ubc second year science. Currently I am taking 2science course with one crim 101 and one math 154 and I am not taking any comp science classes. So I was wondering how does the internal transfer work when I am gonna take 3 sciences with one math next term. Do I just complete those courses and apply somewhere with a good gpa? Anyone know the gpa to transfer to ubc science?

Thanks for your help in advance

  • I think your best bet would be to contact ubc, or finding a ubc forum, since the sfu students who would know the most have already transferred there.
  • On the topic of internal transfer you do not need to transfer to SFUs science faculty in order to take science courses or transfer to UBC science. I think you should just sign up for whatever science/math courses you want, take them, then apply to UBC. Now would also be a good time though to see what you need in order to transfer to UBC, and to see how your current courses will transfer. You don't want to end up taking things UBC won't give you credit for.
  • Also the UBC website has transfer GPA averages and % equivalents for the system they use too.
