I've taken a couple courses with Bernie and he is great. He does ramble on a bit, but most of his stories are fairly funny.
Bernie teaches how to use Excel properly which can be a little bit of a steep learning curve at first but ends up being very helpful in future courses. If you can learn to use formulas properly you will have a huge advantage in future classes. Work hard at it and be sure to do the examples he gives you (which end up being most of the contents on RATs anyways) and you will come out fine.
