WORRIED GRADE 12 STUDENT

Beh
edited August 2013 in General
I'm going into grade 12 this year and I'm freaking out! I want to study Psychology at SFU once I graduate! I got 63% in Foundations math 11. Does this mean I'm going to have to register for the Foundations of Analytical and Quantitative Reasoning math class at sfu since I didn't get 70%? How long does that class last? When do I register for the class? I'm so stressed out, what if I don't get into psychology because of my grade 11 math mark :((( im so nervous i suck at math

  • You have to stop posting these discussions on here. This is like your fourth time posting about how worried you are! You haven't even started your grade 12 year yet.. The minimum is 60% in math 11, which you passed, so that mark will not be taken into account. You will have to take the FAN class which takes one semester just like any other course. You register for it during enrolment just like any other class. Get above the minimum average in your four provincial grade 12 courses, which is approximately 83% last time I checked and you'll get in.
  • Getting this information calms me down, which is why I post it. If I end up taking FAN X99, does this mean that I'm gonna be delayed for signing up for psychology classes?
  • No! It doesn't! All this information is available online if you look.
  • Yeah learn to look things up for yourself and stop stressing. A couple google searches will get you all that you need.
  • There is really nothing to stress about. You take FAN just like you would any other course. It doesn't affect your other classes in anyway
  • Except it doesn't count for credits but it does count for your GPA and I heard it's easy so it might good if you want a strong GPA to start with. Waste of time/money imo doe.
  • Not trying to worry you more, but you need to actually get in sfu before even thinking of FAN :p

Hahahaha stressed about getting into SFU....you must stop thinking so highly of us
  • ^this. ESPECIALLY psychology.
  • Are you kidding me? There's really nothing to worry about if you are going into sfu psych, I've known idiots that are worse than you who get in psych. The real problem is actually a high enough gpa to stay when you do get in which honestly isn't even remotely hard if you try
