My courses for First year semester

edited July 2013 in General
Education 230 with Robin Barrow
Communications 110 : tbd
Criminology 104 with Rebecca Carleton
History 106 with Aaron Windel  ( not too interested but my friend recommended me to take it)

I haven't decided on a major yet, but I am considering going into education.
What are your thoughts on my courses for first year semester? should I change it ?
And is it bad not to have an english or math course?

  • Tip: don't take courses you're not interested in. You will have to deal with it for 4 months. It doesn't really matter that you don't have a math right now or English.
  • I would recommend CRIM 101 over 104, they're taught by the same prof either way.

Don't take history if your not interested in it, they are the most boring courses ever (along with ARCH) to sit through if you have no interest

EDUC 230 was pretty boring too IMO but a decent course if you want to major in EDUC
  • Should i be taking 101 before 104 for crim?
  • You dont have to take 101 before 104 I would just recommend it. When I took 101 we looked at some of the theories taught in 104 but in no where near as much depth. 101 is more of an elective type course, but its up to you
  • 101 talks about the same stuff in 104 as well as 103 in a more basic level as crimematic said. I would recommend taking that instead. It'd be more interesting for you as an elective.
