About academic probation and student loan.

edited April 2013 in General

Hi,

I know I have not been looking good since last semester. I took 3 courses in Fall 2012 and I got F for one course, so gpa from last term is 2.1 I received the some kind of warning letter from studentaid BC 2 months ago that I was in unsuccessful academic standing for 17 weeks(I think because I failed one course from the last term.). Furthermore, I may be in academic probation right after this semester because I am totally in trouble before final exams. Also I am not taking summer.

If I am in the academic probation after this semester, would I still get a student loan?

  • I don't know about your issue but I too am suffering from this math is not my thing and i messed up bad and im a comp sci 1st year student btw. It is noted that SFU is the toughest uni in Canada. So im not sure what their actions are. Hope you get through and live to see SFU for another year.
  • sfu toughest in canada?? HAHAHAH not even close...
  • LOL. sfu has the lowest gpa in canada probably... definitely not the hardest.  it's not even ranked in canada. Its the best "comprehensive" school.
  • Maybe they are referring to the study that found SFU to be one of the toughest schools in terms of grading.

Also, "comprehensive" simply means a school that doesn't have a medical school.
