Entrance Scholarship

edited March 2013 in General
I was under the impression that you didn't have to apply for the entrance scholarship of $2,000, due to the name "no application scholarship". But recently I found this page ttp://www.surrey.sfu.ca/financial_aid/undergraduate  which states that you have to do things like complete a form, write an essay, etc. I would have done all that I needed to do for that scholarship but I
didn't know that I had to do that, and the date has already passed. So anyways, I was just wondering if I had to do that to be eligible for the scholarship? Or is there a scholarship you get automatically for have a high gpa? (mines around 92).

  • Keep your average above 91% and u'll get a scholarships for $3500 automatically.
  • yeah that is a surrey specific scholarship. The general sfu summit entrance scholarships are based on grades and everyone is automatically considered.
  • No, it's 96% this year for $5000. They got rid of the 91% one sadly.

The SFU Surrey $2000 scholarship is definitely by application. I applied for that one - I think it was something like an essay, a list of achievements, a reference letter, and a form.
