Hi
I was planning to take courses at another institution, and wondering if any of you know how the Letters of Permission work or any other information that can help me.

Thanks!

  • Basically fill it out, make sure you have a legitimate reason to take the course, get it signed by an advisor, and bring it to student services, it says they're supposed to email you with whether or not its okay, I somehow never got this email and about a year later they emailed asking me if I ever took the course (I switched majors so I no longer needed to). Basically the only important part is having a totally good reason to take it.
  • Oh thanks!

just wondering but what was your reason for taking a course outside of SFU?
  • I transferred from kwantlen, and basically bio 1110 and 1120 from kwantlen only transfer as bisc101 and 102 if you take both semesters, if not its just a transfer credit. I only took 1100 and was going to go back to take 1120 but changed my major instead. I believe on the letter of permission form there is a lost of acceptable reasons.
