Question about SFU Entrance Scholarship- No Application

edited February 2013 in General
I completed 3
examinable grade 12 courses last semester, averaging 90%. However, if
use one of my grade11 marks as my fourth course, my average won't be 90%
and I'm assuming that means I won't get an entrance scholarship. I'm
still in the process of completing my 4th examinable course, but I know
that I'll get over 90%. Will they look at my second semester course if I
was to predict my mark, or will they ONLY look at what I've completed
up to this point?

  • Well for one I don't think you can use a grade 11 course as one of your four when applying. Though I could be wrong.

I do know that they will take all your final marks into account when calculating whether or not you get a scholarship. I didn't find out that I got an entrance scholarship until june once I was done all of my provincials. So just because you don't have 90% + in four courses now doesn't mean you will not get a scholarship. It will be based on your final marks.
  • The open scholarship is actually only 3.67. Was this the first semester after you transferred? If so you also need to have taken 12 credits in the previous term at SFU, and achieved at least 3.5 in those.
  • I'm not sure that transfer students are eligible for entrance scholarships.
  • Ahh yes I see it now. My mistake.
  • Awesome, thank you so much!
