What's it like once you get into BUSINESS upper lvl courses

edited February 2013 in General
Hey everyone

so this question is aimed towards those who have gotten into business and are taking 300-400 level courses now

I was wondering if you really need a 3.0 gpa overall to stay in business? and does it get super crazy competitive once you get in?
also, what are the courses like in 300-400 level, are they a lot harder than the lower division?

I thought getting in with the 3.17 GPA was tough, but if staying in is even tougher i dont kno if I can handle it lol!

Thanks

  • I am pretty sure that only accounting majors require a cgpa of 3.0.
  • you have to work with a bunch of freaks because there are a lot of group projects and presentations. Sometimes, they are quite narrow minded because all they care about is their grade. Workoholics  are in bussiness major especially students in the accounting honour degree program.
  • Thanks guys, lol thank god I am not doing accounting!

talksfuacct, I've read the syllabuses and I also noticed how most of our grade comes from group projects and presentations...I suck at presentations but group projects can be kinda fun?

Also, are most people who get into business fobs/asians? i see so many of them in my pre req business courses
  • Yup, I see a lot of asians in Business and they are smart and hardworking. I Guess that's one reason why  SFU Business becomes the most difficult one to get into and to finish in the Westcoast...-.-///
