  • you screwed yourself by living at UBC,,. that's a waste of 3 hours a day of commuting.
  • I have a friend who lives at the bottom of the hill at the BBY SFU campus and goes to school at UBC. She is majoring in physics and commutes everyday using public transit back and forth and she has a 3.67 (A-) average. This is her second year
  • Meh, I guess it really comes down to the individual.
  • 2 hours commute = 2 hours of study time. For a total of 4 hour in which you should of been studying. Do you like look out the window 4 hours a day? Also 5 courses is never a good idea unless you have been doing magnificently before with 4 courses. You didn't rape yourself you just made poor choices this semester.
  • ^ I would disgree with the 5 courses. All I've ever taken is 5 per term. It just comes down to time management which most people lack. I would suggest moving closer to campus or if that's not possible, take 4 courses
  • >lives near UBC
    >attends SFU
    >failing class because of commute and lack of careful planning
    >mfw
    >mfw I can't post a face
  • Yeah you probably did rape yourself academically, just make sure you take Plan B Morning After Pill.

You can get that pill over-the-counter easily without prescription and if you read the label it says:
-Take maybe only 4 tablets (courses) semesterly, overdosing is common.
-Fewer courses or at least easier courses would help, and then just take another pill in the summer to make up for tablets lost.
    -Profit.

Also, why the hell did you take TWO writing courses? You only need one?

Also, are you in my POL 101W Surrey class? If so, I may be anally raped for the final this Friday if that makes you feel any better.
  • I wish someone warned you beforehand about PHIL 100 (everyone on sfu says how hard intro phil courses are at sfu) and ECON 103 (if its doug allen, i understand. another gpa killer) do u check out ratemyprof?

and you even took 5 courses and for a commute that long...no wonder. did u go to sfu's orientation, or blueprint for first years? they always emphasize to only take 3-4 courses your first year especially because the transition from high school and university is so big, unless you already have superior time management and study skills where taking 5 courses would be ok for you (this is usually the case if you took lots of AP in high school, then i would understand. but still, its university here...way different ball game)

i'm really sorry to hear but i hope things work out. at least they curve the econ 103 course, so even if u get a 50-60, as long as its the class average you can get around a C+?

    best of luck!
