Experienced CHM281/282 TA Available to Tutor
I know first-hand how tough Organic Chemistry courses can be. With fail rates of 40-50%, they're usually considered a way to "weed-out" casual students, and even serious students often have a hard time.
I wasn't a serious student (I'm still not very serious), but I did well in Organic Chemistry, and I know how I can help you do well, too. I completed my M.Sc. in Chemistry at SFU, where I taught CHM281 and CHM282 lab and tutorial courses for two years under Dr. Kreis and Dr. Merbouh, and I've worked in research for the past 8 years. I know how the professors think and how they grade, but I also know what it is about Organic Chemistry that gives the average student trouble and why hard work won't always pay off.
If you want to finish either course with top marks and think you might need some help, reply to this thread ASAP and I'll get in touch. I'll be happy to work with you in order to find a convenient time to meet up, preferably at the Burnaby Mountain campus, and we can talk Chemistry, solve problems, work through concepts, etc. My going rate is $35/h, but I can be flexible, and I'm willing to meet with multiple students at the same time if they'd like to split the bill.
Best of luck,
Zach
