can you drop a course on the day of the exam?

edited August 2012 in General
i know it sounds bizzare but im doing a distance ed course for which the exam is in a couple of days. firstly, i dont even go to sfu i am taking it as a visiting student. i am so dissappointed with how the course was taught and did poorly so far, and i dont expect to do much better on the exam. i would much rather drop the course at take it at my school. does anybody know if i can drop this late into the semester? maybe because i am not a student here it won't matter..?

  • You can't drop it. You're supposed to drop it by a certain date.

    What course is it?
  • can't drop it. you might as well just write the exam for shits and giggles
  • will not be possible. after a certain date (we are well past it since its always when classes are still ongoing) you will only be able to withdraw because of extenuating circumstances. EC are things like sudden illness requiring hospitalization, death in the family, etc, and what you said here does not qualify.

at this stage it's probably more worth it to just write it and take your chances, unless you are mathematically unable to pass the course (unlikely).

theres always the chance that if the course has been hard the final might be a bit easier to let everyone bring their grades up.
