SA 150 Ann Travers Final Poster Project

edited November 2011 in General
Anyone who has previously taken Travers' Intro to Sociology want to share any ideas for the final poster project? All we've been given for guidelines is the size of the poster, and that she wants us to "communicate what we have learned/covered in the course."

  • I'd like to know as well! I have no idea how to start this project.
  • put naked pics of ladies on there
  • Literally just made the poster "look pretty" and wrote a mini paragraph explaining what I learned from each chapter. Got an easy A.
  • I analyzed stereotypes regarding race, gender, and sexuality in television shows. Kept it really simple. Got an A-.

Took it two years ago though, so that's about all that I remember.

  • Does anybody know why SA150 is a 4 credit course with a 2 hour tutorial? Almost every other introductory social science course is 3 credits with a 1 hour tutorial... so what makes sociology special...is sociology harder or something??
  • And for anyone who has taken SA150 (preferably with Ann Travers), what did you do for 2 hours during the tutorial?

    Thanks!
  • Can anyone else provide some project examples? I'm freaking out about it!

My current topic is social inequality in television and sports. I really liked talking about in lecture...
I'll be analysing them from the social conflict and structural functional perspective...  I'm mainly focusing on race and ethnicity too.....

    Good or bad? Any advice?
  • So is it better to do a general overview of the chapters, or pick a specific topic to discuss in depth??
