The future of Automobiles. Part 1 by BMW Films

edited February 2011 in General
I've always thought of cars as an extremely inefficient way to travel.. in fact, cars are probably the most inefficient thing about our society today. Even housing has developed to the point that we can pack thousands of people into highrises that span just a few city blocks. But for every thousand lb. car on the road in America, it has 5 parking spaces to go with it.. that's an enormous waste of energy and space that we will definitely have to deal with as the human population grows and cities become more packed. Even public transportation will have to be re-thought to be more enjoyable and efficient. Anyone that takes the skytrain to work will tell you that it's over crowded and un-enjoyable. This is where a lot of exciting changes will be happening in the next 50 years, and will change our society more (or as) markedly as the internet revolution did. Watch this short film and let me know what you guys think will happen and what kind of ideas you have about the future of transportation
