MATH 130 or MATH 157

edited December 2010 in General
Heyo
Looking at doing a MATH course to get the requirement done with for SIAT early. I just finished MATH 100.

Looking at MATH 130 - Geometry for Computer Graphics or MATH 157 - Calculus for the Social Sciences 1.
Experiences with either of em?

  • Never heard of 130 before, but 157 was pretty brutal for someone like me who isn't very good at math. Though it is scaled quite a bit. I somehow managed a C+. I walked out of the final thinking I got like 25% on it, but actually ended up getting 55% (complete shock lol). 62% got me the C+. If you study hard and are pretty good at math you should be able to manage just fine though.
  • i've never heard of 130 either. I took 157 with roland wittler and while I am good in math I have to admit it took a lot of practice to get my mark. Did so many practice questions from textbook and out of exams but I have to say the exam which petra menz wrote was fair.

Petra is a good prof, roland not so much.
  • ^I feel bad for you. LOL

I was enrolled in his class in the summer, but the first few classes his teaching wasn't so good and his accent was quite hard to understand, so I said screw it and decided to wait and take it this term when my friend was gonna take it as well.
