HSCI 323 Pharmacology, MBB 435 Genome Bio ADVICE NEEDED!

Hi,

I was just wondering if the textbooks are essential for the above mentioned classes. I`m taking HSCI 323 with Beischlag and MBB 435 with Baillie. Can anyone tell me abt the workload, exams etc. about the courses as well
