might need to withdraw....

edited December 2010 in General
so, i've been through the whole Back on Track program, and had a gpa of 2.00 last semester. i enrolled in 4 classes this semester (so stupid, should have done 3) and already finished 2 of the 4 finals. i don't think i did well on those finals and i'm so nervous about those marks. i know i still have the remaining 2 finals to do but i'm really not sure if i can pull up the average. if i don't get gpa of 2.00 this semester, i will be required to withdraw.

i don't know what to do. i really hope i passed the first 2 courses.
if i do have to withdraw, how should i tell my parents...? i have not told them anything. since the very beginning..........
has anybody been in the same situation before? pls advise.

  • If your gpa does end up being below 2.00 and you are required to withdraw, your final last ditch effort could involve a "retroactive withdrawal" .. thats all i can say lol
  • from what I hear, you don't get kicked out, they just make you pay more to enroll
  • I'm kinda in the same boat as you. Though my finals start this week. If I pass them I should be good and have my CGPA pushed up to or over 2.00.

I had a terrible 1st semester in the summer. So it's been a harsh push this semester. It's all about the finals for me now.

As for back on track? How did u get away with 4 classes? I heard they limit you to 3?

Personally just do what I am doing... revewing as much as I can, crossing my fingers and maybe with a little luck I will get through this week!
  • I feel you, man. This is my first semester. With all the advices I've been getting as a first year student at SFU, I wasn't able to handle the transition to university very well. Should have taken 3 instead of 4 classes. had my mental breakdown near the beginning. I slacked off and now I'm paying for it.

I still have two finals left, and they're the hardest ones for me (Engl 105, and Econ103). I hope all goes well, for both of us.
  • ^You doing ECON 103 with Dudnyk?

I have my final for that class on Friday morning and I'm quite worried :>
