My registration date isnt till Friday...

edited November 2010 in General
That means every course I even thought about taking are full.

What should I do? I don't know what to take anymore.
I'm in Arts first year, i took econ103, eng105, math157, chem 192

I haven't thought of a major yet, but I was leaning towards transferring to business (which I doubt I could get into because my marks are relatively low)

Anyways, I wanted to be a little more open with my choices, so I thought about taking stuff like Intro to Crim, Intro to Sociology, financial accounting... But of course, all of these are full.

  • There's not much you can do, almost everyone has had crappy registration date. Just look for whatever classes are still open and hope they won't kill you next semester.

But this is ridiculous. At least is there a way to view the courses with space left? just selecting one course at a time just to see if they're available takes forever.

Also, Would I get better registration dates for later semesters?

EDIT:: sorry, one more question, whats a SEC and SEM and hows its different from TUT or LEC because some courses says its required but there's always only one selection which is always full.
  • I had the same problem too dude. I wanted to take some crim & English too but they were already all taken. I was so choked. Its my 2nd Semester coming up and I had to settle for some other junk lol
  • junk lol just figure out the classes you need for both this and next semester, theres a 50/50 chance ull get into some of what you need for your degree requirments
  • What Simon said is completely accurate. There are bound to be some open classes, especially if you're in CRIM, since you have to take PSYC 100, SA 150, POL 100/101W, etc.

When you have a late enrollment date, you just have to be patient. Near the end of December and beginning of January especially is when people begin to drop classes, so spots open up. You just have to set aside time where you're constantly refreshing the SIS so you can nab it. Sure, it isn't a lot of fun doing that, but if you really need the class you have to be committed enough to do so.
  • Yeah I take back what I said I just realized that I actually need some of the courses I'm taking. I was just disappointed I didn't get the classes I wanted lol
  • Why did you have such a late reg date?
