Why am I receiving credits TWICE for a class?

edited August 2010 in General
I took Math 157 twice, it's worth 3 credits. Failed it once. In my CGPA, I am receiving credit for it twice ei. it's being counted as 6 credits because I attempted it twice. My CGPA is now 26 but I think it should be 23.

Spoke to advisor via live chat and she confused me even more.

What's right?

TIA

When a class is repeated, it generally takes a while before the lower grade is excluded from your CGPA calculation.
