transfer credit

edited June 2010 in General
i'm a new transfer student from Langara college. Before I go in to SFU, I took Langara English 1129. However, I get F grade. I heard that failed course will not be transferred to SFU because it doesn't meet minimum grade requirement. However, the failed course was transferred and was calculated in CGPA.
how should I do?
Can I retake the course in SFU?
Which course is equal to Langara English 1129?

    ENGL 1129 = SFU ENGL 101 (3) - W/B-Hum & SFU ENGL 102 (3) - B-Hum

Did the credit report state that you got the credits? Usually, it does.

And also, did you talk to an advisor? Your first thought should be to book an appointment with a general advisor or with someone in the faculty of arts.

A few of my high school grades from the mid 90's transferred over even though they were in the Z- range, but I kinda knew intuitively that it didn't mean anything.

Transfer credit is a crazy game. I used a BCIT math class to get precalculus credit for a Langara calculus class. XD

Just forget about the course. Your transfer credits don't count towards your SFU GPA, just take whatever english course your SFU program needs.
