Why don't you put all your questions in one thread? Your physics 101 question could have easily gone here as well.

because of the subject...cause if i make a thread called physics 101..most likely ppl who took it will only look...and i rather get ppl out of that bubble...hence this thread

KIN 142 is supposed to be harder than KIN 110, KIN 140 and KIN 143 according to my friend, who's taken pretty much every 100-level KIN class.

Another friend today told me, when I asked about LING 100 vs LING 110, that 100 is a lot easier. But I've heard that both are fairly easy with Pankratz.

PSYC 100 isn't hard, but you have to keep up with readings every week due to multiple exams and iClicker quizzes pretty much weekly.

IAT 100 isn't exactly hard, but you mentioned before you don't like group work.

PHYS 101 I have absolutely no clue.

Of those, I've taken Kin 142, Phys 101, and Psyc 100.

Kin 142 is easier for those with a Bio background (high school Bio + Bisc 101 should suffice). However, it does go into details and there is a lab component as well. If you slack off because the material is all review (and it is), you WILL do badly. If you actually study, you'll ace it if you have the Bio background.
[EASY WITH BIO BACKGROUND + STUDYING.]

Phys 101 I've answered in your other thread.
I don't know how hard you actually tried to get a B+ in 100; if you tried really hard, you should expect to pull off a similar (or better grade, since it'll be with Dr. Chen + possible alternate grading scheme). If you needed a tutor or something for 100, don't expect Phys 101 to be easy.
[EASY WITH MATH/PHYS BACKGROUND + DOING PROBLEMS.]

Psyc 100 is memorization. If you're good at that, take it. Some of the readings are actually quite interesting and fun (examples of classic experiments, findings that are relevant to real life, etc). For my class (Dr. Alder) the exams were multiple choice + 1 essay. Multiple choice is easy and you always have a chance to guess. If you're not strong at reading / writing, the exam format might be a little difficult. The essay was also marked quite harshly depending on which TA you had.
[EASY WITH MEMORIZATION + ESSAY SKILLS.]

    That was my point.

Pinkcoke is asking about which is the best out of Phys 101 (already made a thread on that), psych 100 (thread about that too), ling 110 (thread about that), and then two other courses that there aren't threads about (yet).

I just think a general "I am trying to figure out what to take this summer, please give advice" type thread would have sufficed.

Anyways, I can't give any insight. I took psych 100 back when they still had tutorials and part of your mark was based on a presentation, and I did phys 120/121 instead of 101/102.

Honestly, I think people need to figure out what to take on their own. Someone may love a certain class and think it's easy, but someone else may find it dull as hell and hate it. I took someone's advice for an easy course this semester, and although it's easy, I hate it so much I have no motivation to do the work and feel like I should have just taken another chemistry course instead. A "GPA booster" to one person is not necessarily one to another.

^word for both pieces of advice...

i'm about this close to merging all of pinkcoke's threads into one big "pinkcoke's gpa booster/course selection thread" maybe i'll do a little house keeping when i'm not functioning on only 1/4 of my brain..

but really.. a simple search on the forum and you'll find similar threads that would be of use to you..=) better yet use the shoutbox so everyone can see your question on the forum homepage..
