Just moved to Vancouver last year. I don't understand why they closed down the IMAX downtown! Now the nearest Imax's are in Richmond and Langley! Science World one doesn't count because they're not showing Avatar or actual movies.
What a crock! The Richmond one seems super-far from public transit, would involve taking the Skytrain down there and buses all the way to the other side. The Langley one is even further. Why????!

    It's a Capitalist conspiracy - Ikea and the City of Richmond are in on it.

    I know what you mean though. It sucks having to organize a carpool out to the theater, but if you're watching a late movie, your transit options are limited anyway.

    Aren't a lot of regular cinemas playing Avatar in 3d too?

    Imax isn't that much better...it's just a bigger screen.
